Karen was the Deputy Director for Quality and Nursing at Yorkshire Ambulance Service, and a proud long serving NHS advocate with over 30 experience as a nurse, midwife, operational manager and senior leader.

Karen had a keen interest in developing safe systems for patient care across team and organisational boundaries. As a clinical leadership fellow her projects included “safe and personalised care in care homes”, specifically in falls prevention and decision making, the development of “Virtual Wards” and learning from mortality.

Karen also supported the spread of Safety Huddles.
