Francesca is a Medical Oncology Registrar in West Yorkshire and has recently joined the Improvement Academy as a Clinical Leadership Fellow. She has a passion for patient safety and collaborative working to create positive organisational change, leading to enhanced patient care.

She is involved with the Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Collaborative, with a particular focus on improving safety and culture within care homes. She is also leading the Learning from Deaths Project, with the aim to continue the expansion of the Structured Judgement Review in wider healthcare settings, to allow targeted quality improvement interventions within these organisations and shared learning across healthcare trusts.

Alongside her role as leadership fellow, Francesca will be completing a PGCert in Medical Leadership and Management. She hopes that this year will develop her understanding of the effective application of quality improvement to make sustainable change within the NHS. She also looks forward to the opportunity to work alongside academics learning about the application of evidence based research into clinical practice.
