Judith joined the Improvement Academy in June 2014 working as an Academic Improvement Fellow for half a day a week supporting front line teams in applying of behaviour change techniques to support best practice with regard to patient safety.

A qualified General and Mental Health Nurse with a Masters degree in Public Health and a PhD investigating the use of psychological theory in influencing the adoption of best hand hygiene practice by health care practitioners. Judith is currently a Professor in Implementation Science Centre for Social Care, Health and Related Research (C-SCHaRR), Birmingham City University. Judith’s research interests include behavioural psychology, the implementation of evidence based practice and using psychological theory to change behaviour.
