Alison is the Improvement Academy’s Director of Nursing. Alison’s career has been at strategic and executive leadership roles across the spectrum of health and social care. This included Director of Patient Safety at a large acute Trust and interim Chief Nurse.

Over the last 20 years Alison has studied and worked extensively with Quality Improvement methodologies to improve patient safety and care. Alison has worked with the Improvement Academy since 2013 and was fundamental in designing and developing the HUSH programme, including the integration of systematic measuring and addressing of safety culture. This award winning work has national and international recognition.

Alison is a qualified coach. Alison supports the Academy’s Improvement Fellows and provides “Coaching for Improvement” to Executive Nurses and Medical Directors.
